bought new in 7/20/07... guess the miles
I bought my07in Dec. of 06 I only have 3500 on it. Mine is mostly dirt or on the way to the trails. I have other bikes all together this year I have putbetween 10,000 -12,000 miles on them. I feel like I never get to ride. If it weren't for work I would have 4 times that! Work just gets in the way of having fun!!
[sm=insomnia.gif], Dang Jetboy. Ever thought of making your name "rocket boy". You must have been flying to accumulate that many miles. I try my best, but with work only 6 miles away and everything else close by. The odometer just creeps forward.
I guess its road trip time. Just gotta pick a direction (N, E, S, W).

Ok, I think you are the current champ in the total mileage category. I'm guessing that I'm in second with about 12000 miles.
Are you getting a whining noise from the primary gear train yet? You are about due for that. It goes away when you squeeze the clutch.

[8D]Yes I Have the clutch noise, but I have been in the powersport industry as a techsince 1977. Icould have picked a bigger bike but for my needs. The KLX works out fine. The one thing that I made sure to break engine in properly. Then after breakin I installed a stainless oil filter and run Honda HP4M 10/40 oil and change every 1500 miles. The moly from the Honda oil is not effecting clutch and causing slippage but this motor really doesn't make that much torque. So if I havebeen a motorcycle tech since 1977 that makes me a old fat guy on a KLX 250. HA! i thaught Dual Sports were bought by mainly younger people... but im finding out thats soooo not the case. Thats cool. You have trust in those stainless oil filters? I wouldnt, and its not worth the piece of mind for 3$.
Jetboy, we need pics of your bike. How is it holding up after that many miles? Have you had any problems out of the bike so far? With almost 9 times the miles that I have on my bike it would be great to know what I have to look forward to or what I need to prevent. More than 22K! that is awesome!
