Have you seen that commercial for "High Def" sunglasses? Just a pair of cheapo polarized shades. Ugh...

I need a new clutch. I need stiffer clutch springs. I don't see any good to come out of removing two of the pressure plate springs! Unless you like your clutch real soft and mushy. I'd rather have it tight like a virgin and able to grab in a snap instant.

Different strokes!
haha im with you, i started thinkin about it and stiffer springs would make more sense.. my buddies CR 500 has really stiff springs probly cuz all the POWER!!

I'm close to ordering the EBC clutch kit that comes with the springs. I talked to a vendor and he said the springs are stiffer than stock.. I'm probably going to get that one, I'll report back about it when it comes in.

Cool! If you pull the trigger, I'll definitely follow the report thread. Hopefully EBC doesn't source their springs from the same place Barnett does. The Barnett springs like to break, and you find pieces of them in the bottom of the case . There's a detailed report on Dan's KLXforum.

I didn't know that EBC made a clutch kit for our bike. It's nice to know there's an alternative.

You report clutch slip on a stock clutch with overkill on net spring force when loaded less than maximum torque (fourth gear). You also report a preference for 'tight as a virgin.' If that means no clutch lever slack, you don't need a 'new clutch.' You need more lever slack.

waaaat. No, I like it tight meaning that if I have the lever pulled in and the clutch is disengaged, I want like a half a centimeter of release before the clutch is fully engaged.

So what I'm saying is four springs will be too soft and mushy for me. I'd like my full six please, and make them tight.
