Default Best Way to Drain Tank

Gonna be taking the bike to MI in a UHaul trailer next week and want to drain the tank first. What is the best way to do that, siphon? Take the tank off and flip it?

What's your choice of settings on the petcock? You could just remove the fuel line to the carb, put a piece of hose on the petcock, put the other end in a pan / gas can and switch the petcock to 'prime', if it's available. Much easier than removing the tank, and safer than siphoning unless you use a pump.
This is what I do when I occasionally run out or lawnmower gas. ;-)

Can I ask why you are draining the gas? Just turn the petcock off and let it rip. I trailer bikes all over the country in an enclosed trailer and never drain the gas, however on carb bikes you need to turn the fuel off or you can have a flooding issue. EFI bikes don't need anything done to them.

I have had gas leak out in a trailer during bumpy roads, maybe if the level is real low it won't be as bad.

turn the fuel off, unhook the fuel line at the petcock, put on a piece of fuel line and route that into a gas can. turn the petcock on. .

Haha! Street squids. Nothing fancy about the KLX petcock. It's not vacuum operated..just 'ON,' 'OFF,' and 'RES'.

Draining it into a separate container in the 'RES' position will get rid of the most fuel.
