Now which is the best DOT knobbie for sand riding?

Contenders look to be the Michelin AC-10, Kenda Trakmaster II, and the Dunlop D606 (120).

I still prefer the TW 302 good all around traction, great hiway grip and 5000+ miles per rear, and 12000 miles on the front so far.

another TM2 vote here as well, especially taking price into consideration, great off-road no complaints on-road (once scuffed up), but that first 100km was scary.

Another vote here for the Kenda Trakmaster II's ... I just mounted the front and rear, (120/100/18 rear $45.99; 80/100/21 $30.99; Tuff Tubes at $11.99 ea. from RMATV&MC[RockMountain ATV& MC]). [sm=loveeyes.gif]Superb traction! The rear tire found traction where we expected there wouldn't be any!!

Running at 12# Front and #13 Rear for the sand and desert trails here in AZ/So East CA. (Yuma area). Tried 15# initially, and the front tire was rather skittish in the sand at that pressure in the sand and on the hard pack... both perform mutch better at the lower pressure for me.

My buddy riding an '06 KLX250s also changed his tires on the same day with the same tires. FWIW, I'm 185# and 6' tall. His experience was the same as mine with the higher pressures!

Thanks to all those guys on this forum that made the referral to me for these tires......

Hello Klx250S rider (Mark)

Can you please provide more info on that Beefy 606. Is it the 130 size? Does it have any clearance issues? How does the bile like it? I.E does it have a heavy feel? And a review on it's overall performance. I am sure that i am not the only one that wants this info.

Thanks in advance

I have a 120 d606 and love it, my buddy has the 130 size and loves it too.I know there were no clearence issues for him. I've rode his bike with the 130 on the rear, it grips well and doesn't bog the bike at all. We do alot of of hilly technical stuff up here inNew Englandandthe 606 hasbeen great.

Mark,
I ask again. Is that the 130 in the picture? Are their any clearance issues w/that tire? I am trying to avoid a mistake on buying the wrong tire. Help a guy out please and answer these simple questions........................
