There is 6 bolts holding the sprocket on, they have allen key heads and from memory the nuts are 8mm. Put the correct allen key in the head of the bolt and with your 8mm spanner undo the nut off the bolt. Move to next bolt and repeat until all bolts are out. Remove the sprocket and put the new one on. Reassembly is reverse of removal, make sure you tighten the nuts onto the bolts, do not tighen the bolts into the nuts you will round out the heads.

P.S. you need to get a manual

Thanks KLX, I do have a manual and it says pretty much verbatim what you said.
And I fugured it was just that simple, I was just checking to see if there was some little useful nuggets of info from past errors.... or... I mean experiences that could be passed down.
Like---does a chain need to face acertain direction or like you said......tighten the nut to the allen screw not the screw into the nut! SEE- that makes senseand I would have done the last one, so these little tid bits to us newbies are very helpful and we can pass this knowledge down to others some day.
Thanks again

Dave

Quick note: a bit of "Loctite" on the nuts helps keep everything in place, just don't get the permanent kind!!

I use the medium strength, high temperature (so I can use it on the Muffler bolts as well...that way they don't fall out of your big gun muffler when your riding in Florida...) locktite

hope thathelps...

The chain, no however the clip needs to be put on against the direction of travel so that as the chain goes foward (on the top run) the clip "tightens" not loosens
