Attention Acerbis Tail light Owners
As some of you discovered early on like I did the 1157 lamps are not holding up very well in our after market tail light,be it the rough trails or over washing of the bike, or is that just me?
Anyway I decided to finally do something about it permanently. I ordered a LED cluster lamp that fits the socket from my local Carquest Auto Parts Store. (whoops I better add a new paragraph)
Anyway tonight I am going to take a few pictures of the standard lamp as running and braking, and then I will take a fewmore pics tomorrow of the new lamp in both stages. I ordered, I think, the13 LED lamp bulb in the white. I'll let you guys know how it turns out, but this should finally fix it. As a reminder check the running and braking of the standard 1157 in the Acerbis tail light every time before you ride, I have gone through 5 lamps in a year. We need all the help we can get.

hey deej, dont feel bad about thenew bulb not working out.
i bought the acerbis tail light assembly for $30 something and tried to get it on last weekend.
i removed the existing tail light and hanging plate holder.
the recessed area under the tailight puzzled me but i saw yours and others solutions to fill this in and moved on.
i raised the rack a hair with washers but still not enough clearance under it.
so i tried to modify the black assembly with a saw and tin snips. (no, not just the plate part)
now the only thing that it can be mounted to is a stump intheyard.
i reassembled the stock tailight, ordered a led for the plate light and am goingwitha mod like moles.
i now have the bulb, bulb holder, lenscover, and screws in a baggy if anyone needs them.
i live, learn, adapt, andmove on.

I ordered around $150 worth of led lamps for my car and bike (blinkers and brake/tail lights) over a year ago, found out they were not too bright and never used them [:@]
I didn't have issues with the tail light I had issues withthe 1157 LED replacement, what a joke.!!! I am going to get a heavy duty lamp holder and hard wire it in and get rid of those cheap brass tabs in there. Don't know if it will help, but you gotta try something right?
