Default Anyone try iridium plugs in their klx?

Title says it all. I was wondering for iridium plugs lets you run a richer fuel mixture since it can burn more (I'm guessing as long as it has enough air)

If this is the case I was thinking it might add some hp. What do you guys think?

I have one in my KLX and my KLR. I wouldnt say it added any HP, but i did notice a bit of a change for the better.

In my experience, you can't expect any performance gains from iridium or platinum plugs, just longevity.

I'd agree. I think the iridiums might be just a tick more sensitive to the air/fuel mix. Maybe just my experience.

RUBBISH TNC! Ask anyone on the ThumperTalk forums that know what they're talking about and they'll tell you that if you use Iridium plugs together with lightening strike decals it gives a good extra 10HP - the decals are VERY important though

Jokes aside, I have used both standard and Iridium plugs in my bike and there is no noticeable difference in performance. They made life easier when I was playing with jetting on my FCR carb as the plug was a lot more tolerant of changes and rich running than the standard plug - or maybe my standard plug was old and needed replacing around the time I was playing

My wife's HHR just went 95,000 miles on Iridium plugs. They still had the correct gap without corroded or pitted contacts on electrode or ground strap. My KLX with at least 15K on the Iridium plug I installed still had perfect gap and no discernable wear on the ground strap or center electrode. All my numerous vehicles over the years with precious metal plugs have run many, many miles without issue and no apparent degradition in ignition system performance. No noticeable power gain, but I got the power I started with all the way to the point to where I finally felt guilty enough to change them. I'll probably never run a conventional spark plug on anything I own again that I intend to keep for any lengthy period of time.

Talking of fancy spark plugs! Has anyone spent 22 bucks of their hard earned money on a Brisk premium plug?

I can see that bolting 12 of these plugs into a 6 litre Lamborghini engine could gain a few HP!!! The added HP figures would of course be none to negligible on our small displacement engines but wonder if a klx would run smoother with one fitted? Anyone tried? Looks gimmicky.
