ANOTHER EXHAUST QUESTION

I believe the HMF slip-on is the exception to this rule - it wants the stock header on the KLX250S since it was designed specifically for our bike, not the KLX300.

but also be aware that the oem header flows terribly. you will need to go in and take out the huge clump of weld right inside the pipe where it connects to the engine. this is a problem with the oem header, I assume on the 300 as well.

Or bite the bullet and get a Muzzy?

Believe me the OEM stainless header works excellent when you take five minutes to remove the extra weld. The HMF is a great choice which many belonging to this forum are very happy with. Also look at the dyno data recently posted and then compair it to the HMF data. All looks the same to me. and if someone is going to despute a 10th of a HP or FT/lb then they have other issue.

its all on what/ how much you can spend..... i dont see the stock header restricting flow that much, but if you were gonna keep it i would dremel it or something, but others feel different on this issue... when i got my big gun there wasnt a slip on yet, the hmf you had to wait a long time for....
or........... how wise you want to be with your cash as well. If you want to pay better than $150 for a 20" piece of pipe, you think it's a good deal then go for it. many people have to justify why they paid well over $400 for a exhaust. My KLX is the 2nd least expensive toy in my stable of 8, so I would say I can afford it if I want too.....
