Default Am I just being paranoid or what?

So, yesterday, on my way home, I performed the ultimate in noob mistakes. I dropped the bike into first a little too soon as I came to a stop light, and as expected, the rear end locked up and bounced around a few times as I frantically grabbed at the clutch.

I've done this before, usually on offroad-only bikes, since the gearing is a little less predictable on those. The difference here though, was that afterwards, when I revved the bike a bit at the stoplight, the bike would sort of bog down and stop reving after about 4.5k rpms. It wouldn't die, it'd just sorta sputter and stay at 4.5k rpms, and then from there on sorta slowly raise up and up, and once it hit 5.5k rpms it'd rev fine.

So I figured "oh crap, better get home before I end up like EMS", and left the light (after it had changed of course). While I was riding, I squeezed the clutch in a few times and reved her to see investigate the problem in further detail, only to find that it had gone away entirely.

Got home, put her in neutral, and same thing. Problem was solved somehow.

So, I changed the plug (just for the hell of it, as I was rather bored), and left the bike overnight. Today I fired her back up, only to find that the problem had resurfaced! I thought maybe I was running low on gas, so I opened up the tank and moved the bike side to side, and there seemed to be a fair bit of gas in there. So, I spend about a half hour changing out to the old plug from last night (took a long time since the engine was still hot, OUCH!), only to find that it didn't help. I figured that my gapping must have been fine, so I just kept turning her over till she started and ran normally. Left for a friends house, and left her sitting for a few minutes, then when I got back on, the problem was BACK!

So, I put the bike into reserve, since I was at about 75 miles on the trip meter, and headed for the nearest gas station. Problem seemed to be solved.

Yet the whole day, I kept thinking that I was hearing something wrong with my bike. It sounded almost as if there was some sort of odd vibration comming from the radiator, and I thought to myself "I must just be paranoid", as this wasn't the first time I thought I heard a bad noise comming from the rad.

So I ask you guys, is there any chance that i've really messed something up? From what I know about motorbikes, the answer is a definitive NO, but i'm paranoid right now and need some advice from a third party.

Bike has around 488-500 mi on the odometer.

BTW, don't forget to zip up your jacket pockets folks. It sucks to be riding, paranoid about odd sounds comming from your bike, then suddenly hear a snap and then turning around, only to see your cellphone lying in the middle of the road.

I got lucky that nobody ran it over

Must be the coming lunar eclipse! Bad gas is a possibility too.

When I ran out of gas on the trail, I flipped to reserve and it took a long time to fire and then it wouldn't idle. Ran like dog poo the rest of the way home and would die as soon as I let off the throttle. I had just been running near WOT on the trails and thought something super nasty happened.

Got home, left it on reserve and let it cool. Could barely get it to start, then it died and wouldnt restart. So I drained the carb and filled the tank with fresh gas. No problem since, I'm thinking I may have had a little water in the bottom of the tank or something.
