Default Airbox vent tube leaking oil?

Hi guys. Went back to the dealer to check out that used 06 KLX 250S with the low miles. If anybody remebers from my previous post, they want near MSRP for a two-year old demo bike (it only has 54 miles, but nontheless, it is used). Anyway, it also had a puddle of oil under it. When I looked at it today, you could see that the oil is definately coming from this bike. I looked around the vent tubes and the one that leads to the air box (it also has a white fuel filter looking plastic piece near the end) appears to be leaking the oil. The end of that particular vent line had oil in the end of it.

Anybody know what could cause this and does it need to be investigated further? I suspect maybe the bike fell over or something. Could this cause oil to go into the air box and leak that much? The bike looks pretty nice otherwise. I would kind of like to go with an 06 or 07 KLX 250S and this one is local so no shipping worries or anything like that. I doubt if they will take what I am willing to pay for it, but if the oil leak is a non-issue I may make an offer. What do you guys think?

I just took my air filter out after 1800 miles

The bottom of the filter and air box had alot of oil....My thoughts...Oil from the filter has just done dripped out.....Where the carb is sucking is further up so the bottom stays saturated until it just drains out........

Probably filter oil from a newly oiled filter. Otherwise, yes a fall will cause engine oil from the crankcase to travel up the breather and drain into the airbox and then end up in the see through container at the end of the hose. THIS IS NORMAL. Get that bike dude.

Given the amount of oil on the floor, I'd probably have to say it was due to a tip over. Not a lake, but a lot more than just a few drips. I'll go in and put out an offer and see what they say. Thanks for the help guys.

It should have a plug in the end of the clear container so you can see how much oil you lost.

Nope, doesn't appear to be a plug in the clear tube as the oil is on the floor. I kind of wondered why that clear tube was there.
