Hello, I am getting ready to install exhaust, EJK, and the accompanying mods on my 2018 KLX and was wondering if i need to get a different air filter than the one that comes stock. I searched a bunch of threads and didnt see anything related specifically to this.

If the stock filter were a problem, I'm sure that you would have found some posts about it.
