I would bet you a beer, however, that it's running rich.
I bought ahnh's fmf slip on... for the record it was a "tad" sooty (looks clean still though, I'd leave it be), you can just split the beer with me later.

I'm getting old and for me the bike is more street than trail, I like to trail ride but just do it alot less anymore. For that reason to this point (about 5000 miles) I have no need to mod the suspension as it is fine for me in stock form and I'm 235lbs. I have not as much as adjusted anything from stock. I've jumped the bike in excess of 50 feet on alot of occasions and it handles it well. So for me engine mods were the first choice. I found the bike limp wristed stock so much so I wanted to burn it for the insurance money when I first brought it home.

thought all mufflers turn black in the inside...i have an unopenned fmf 4-stroke muffler packing for free if you want to clean the inside and replace with new....i usually leave some of the old in because new mufflers are always much louder...that fmf q4 has never been cleaned or repacked...don't think it needs to after 6,000 miles...i'll have another shop look at my bike again...had my bike looked over by kawasaki at 5,000 miles and they said it had no problems...

No It's fine, it was not meant as a regard to the condition of the muffler. Just an observation, like I said leave your jetting alone... I'd prefer a little rich.

What made you skip past the 128 jet originally though?

had dj128 before with snorkel removed...after adding the k&n, wasn't sounding great...tried the dj132 and got little better, but not perfect...added a kdx snorkel and it smoothed out the engine...
