IDRIDER , great job on the pics. It's funny how, no matter how clean you think you have the bike, once you start tearing it down you will find tons of dirt. You will appreciate the 351, no doubt about it. Have fun.
Dan
There's a reason we call them "dirt bikes." I need to get that tub of soapy water handy like you did.

Barnett has part numbers on their web site. I just found some stuff on Perfect Brakes web site. www.perfectbrakes.com - buy EBC Brakes products online

Plates only

CK4469
EBC Replacement Clutch Plate Set
A direct replacement for the OEM unit made with an impregnated "cork" based lining that emulates the stock unit, but enhances clutch feel and lifetime.
Price: $68.00

Dirt Racer rebuild
DRC212
EBC Dirt Racer Clutch Rebuild Kit
The perfect clutch rebuild for every ATV and MX bike, featuring a complete engine set of friction plates with upgrade clutch springs and pin planished steel separator plates. These wear longer than the stock alloy units, prevent "muddying" of the lube system and increase engine flywheel effect, actually improving engine performance due to the slightly heavier component mass of the steel plate set. Being a complete rebuild kit, the DRC set completely re-sets the all important stack height to its original dimensions whereas simply replacing plates can lead to the same slippage problems.
Price: $73.00

For a few bucks extra, it sure looks like the Dirt Racer kit is the way to go. I recall others here complaining about the EBC springs, so will get the Barnett springs and toss the EBC springs in the spare parts pile for emergency use.

The sub frame changes I made were to stiffen up the cheesy stamped cross member where it cracked due to flexing caused by my bad design on the first rack I built. I think the sub frame tubes are pretty strong as is as long as the weight isn't too far out from the back of the seat.

I'm planning on following your rear rack method, so may as well beef up what needs to be done. I've carried some serious weight back there through the ruff stuff, and am surprised nothing broke yet. Living on borrowed time.

Time to quit farting around here and get to work. Should have more pics later.

Is it worth trying to index the spark plug so the spark front faces the intake?

Here's a swell setup for removing the head bolts using a ratcheting unit on the hex wrench.

I spoke with Bill Blue this morning and will be sending my cylinder his way, hopefully today.

My local shop is ordering the EBC Dirt Racer kit ($62) and Barnett springs ($18).
