Default Acerbis tank easy choke fix

The only real problem I had with the Acerbis tank was the choke **** being stuck back behind the petcock.

The original choke location was no prize though, being a bit hard to reach.

I simply took a piece of vac hose, scavanged from the removed smog bypass, removed the stock **** and slid the hose all the way over the choke shaft in the "off" position. I left the "L" on the outer end and tucked it against the frame under the tank.

It stiff enough to engage and disengage the chock but flexible so it won't get damaged if snagged.

I've still got some final trimming, clamping and line routing to do be here is what it looks like.

Here is what the Acerbis tank looks like mounted.

Thanx deej, and thanks for the help on the other stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Some very helpful members here really know their stuff and saved me boodles of time and probably untold piles of unusable mod parts!!

I hope this mod helps out Acerbis users.

Nice mod there horizonod, where there's a will there's a way. My old KLR had the same carb, but it had a cable that ran up to a lever on the handle bars. It was easy to operate from the bars, but one more cable to route and deal with when working on the bike. Would you be interested in selling me your radiator shrouds? Maybe offset the cost of some of your new tank. I sent you a PM. Thanks Dan

Thanks guys. I did add a couple of spring clamps to the tube just to snug it up but it works like a charm. I love the easy reach and not having to fumble around trying to find the choke.

Sell my shrouds.??? Hmmmm. I suppose I'll not need them again. Lemme think on it.
