Acerbis Tail Light Install - Constant Brightness?
Nope it will work just off the front brake, when I just went out and un-taped mine to get you the wire colors I tried my front brake just like you.
wonder if you blew a fuse...get out your trusty manual.

Problem solved.
Per your suggestion JB1, I looked at the fuses (all 2 of them), and they looked fine. For some reason I couldn't get the idea out of my head that the sensor or whatever that triggers when you actuate the front brake might be bad. I started poking around at the front master cylinder and low and behold, one of the wires had come loose. Reattached. Life is good.
Thanks for the ideas.
Now to figure out how to squeeze that taillight under my rack with my Pelican brackets underneath. It's always somethin'.

Squeezing the light under the rack should be do-able ... that's Eric's setup. I'm looking for a good deal on one of those lights to see if I can fit my Brake! LED unit in there ... I missed out on the recent eBay auction.
Glad ya got the wiring figured out chris... and by the way, the brake light should come on when you hit the frontand the rear brake, they both have a switch to activate the light...
Are you going to try to cut some plastic off of the light to get it to fit better? Was i remembering right on why you couldnt move the light down any?

I trimmed my light down. The base is at an angle so I just trimmed about 1/2" off with my dremel.

I ended up not finishing last night because I could not find the bolts that I bought to secure the light to the fender. I bought them on Saturday and I will be danged if I can find them now.

JB, that's what Eric suggested I do as well. I was thinking about it, but I was a little hesitant to change the angle of the main portion because I thought it might put too much stress on the part where the license plate part connect to the light part. Do you find that there is much stress there once things are bolted down? If not, I will probably go that route this evening.

I just scribed a line starting at the base towards the license plate that was approx 1/2" or so. If you look underneath you can see how far you can go.
Other option would be to put some washers or spacer underneath the rack mout between the frame and raise that angle upwards.
