Default acerbis fuel tank

www.motosport.com sent me my new klx300 fuel tank with petcock today. They are still out there if your looking. It took about a week from order to delivery.

Oh, you called too?

I'll say this about that though. After talking to them at length, I think I have found another place to do with business on the internet. I quickly noticed that when I purused their web site, the Acerbis Tank, 3.7 Gallons was clearly marked as "Out of Stock, On Backorder" instead of making you think it was in stock.

Then I asked them the question, "If I order it today, when will my credit card be charged?" The answer I got was a very satisfying, "The day we ship it to you is the day we bill the card. Our owner does not feel that we have the right to charge you for something we didn't supply."

MotoSport Off-Road Motorcycle Parts and Motocross Gear is now a part of my favorites!

Sure is nice to find a decent vendor that has parts, can get parts and does not try to take advantage of you, lie to you or misrepresent to you in any way, shape or form!

Honesty is still the best policy!

I will be doing a lot of my business here because of their attitude - no rush, no BS, all the phone pholks know motorcycles and they seem to care. I asked them about pushing to get some of the suppliers to list the KLX250S in their catalogs. He said that he thought that was odd as he felt that would be a hot seller - I told him it was, but there is NOT much support. We shall see if anything happens there.

Yes, I did place an order. Instead of the Acerbis petcock, they looked up the application on a KLX300 and since they recommend using the stock petcock there, which is also not tank mounted, I didn't order one.

We shall find out.

Marty, to be clear: the KLX300R petcock IS tank mounted both on the OEM KLX300R tank and on the IMS tank. Are you saying the Acerbis tank requires and/or supports a remote petcock like the OEM KLX250S unit?

I got the petcock with the tank order. I didn't order it seperate. I didn't pay extra for it. It was taped to the underside of the the tank (Acerbis part number 100050061). The directions do call for using the original petcock on the klx300. It must come with the tank for the older 250.

The website did say backordered last week when I phone ordered it too, the guy on the phone said he could still get it. That was last week. When I ordered I was thinking after 2 weeks I would have to cancel it. I didn't want to wait until July. It was a nice surprize when it showed up.
