Planing on ordering it soon. But had one worry.

From reading it looks like the head gasket is custom. What happens down the line if I need a new one and Bill is not longer available. Will I be just S.O.L.? Or does someone make them?

 

Thats a good question. Order like 3 or 4 extra just in case ?

I believe that you would be able to order the custom gasket directly from the mfg. I have a horrible memory but seem to remember seeing that the piston has a custom bill blue part number , in other words you could get a new piston. I would ***-u-me that you could get a replacement gasket the same way. Someone posted the bill blue part number for the piston a while back.

On my replacement gasket, after the first bad one, there was a sticker that said something like "Cometic, KLX250, Bill Blue Spec"

I didn't keep that packaging, but sent it back to Bill with the bad gasket.

Given the vast number of 351's out there, I think it would be a good idea for someone to correspond with Bill and/or Cometic and get a part number or spec or whatever it takes, and post it into the COMMON PART NUMBERS thread. Also whatever information can be gleaned (e.g. piston make/model/size, etc).
