Hi flo oil filters are what’s available from the dealer for my huskys. They are good filters. I don’t think k&n oil filters are special in any way. Maxima oil if that’s what you seen is also good stuff. Lots of ppl swear by it.
ive been to the dynos before, the guys I went to see charged $300/hr. Clutch plates/springs are so easy to change out. The engine already has a quick change side cover to make it really easy. If I was going to replace my plates I’d go with Kawasaki oem KX125 plates and stock steel drive plates with 3 stock oem springs and 3 from Barnett replacement springs #501-40-06017. There’s a you tube vid of mr duhfactor & ‘katsumi’ doing a klx big bore build up showing those springs in action. Those KX125 clutch plates were recommended by planet klx... I didn’t just make it up lol

I'm not necessarily saying that Hi-Flo is a bad filter, it's just not one that I use. Most places that I go to get things for my motorcycles have Fram or K&N, and on a bike that I want to last under heavy abuse, I'll spend a little more for a good filter. I don't think K&N is as good as what they claim to be, but I've never had a problem with their merchandise, and it's just my preference. I understand that the clutch plates and springs are easy to change out, and I have seen the videos from Mr DuhFactor multiple times which is how I got the confidence to do my big bore kit, but my issue is that they had it all pulled apart, called me to say they needed replaced and that they could get the parts in a day or two. I told them to do whatever they needed to make it ready for street riding with lots of hooligan shenanigans, and they failed to deliver. Instead of replacing the plates and springs like they said they could and I approved of, they put an extra 3" onto my clutch cable to make sure it would engage all the way and keep them from glazing.

Definitely sounds like you didn’t get what you were told. Running on a dyno with slipping plates would have been a total waste of money. The +3” clutch cable was installed cause you have raised your bars (protaper adapters, higher rise bars)? They did a dyno run after replacing your parts/running your old slipping plates?

You might be thinking of Maxima oil, been around for a long time. It's actually probably really good stuff, but like most high performance oils, it is likely overpriced as many are. I knew a lot of racers who used their two stroke oil I've used their chain lube.

I would say they screwed the pooch when they didn't listen to you on the clutch thing.

Yes RaceGass, I agree, which is why I had told them to replace the plates. They knew it was slipping when I took it there, and they told me they could get the stuff. I feel like I ordered a party platter, but got served a burrito and some rice, with the price of the former. I understand the clutch extension, and why it was done, but still pointless if the necessary parts weren't replaced. Only 7/8" renthal bars, not necessarily high rise either, just a little higher up, but also further back and I rerouted the clutch cable to make it work.

klx678, that might be what it is, but what I put is just what it shows on the receipt that I have from them.
