Default 351 kit piston ring orientation

I was going to put the 351 on this weekend but had to work sat and then a buddy called to go ride today. Can't pass that up.
I have a question about the orientation of the ring gaps. Bill Blue had told me to space them out 120 degrees. There are 5 rings so after the third 120 degree spacing end up back at the first gap. My guess in that case is that you fudge the spacing so that they are close to 120 degrees but more importantly not overlapping.
The kawi manual shows this spacing. The "F" is noted as about 40degrees and the "G" is the gaps.

That looks pretty good to me except the fact that the oil ring expander gap lines up with the second ring? From what I've read the rings move around (rotate) once the engine is running anyway so I'm thinking I may be over thinking here. I also know that I don't know for sure, so I'll put it out here to you "experts"

Thanks Dan

Uses the manuals description it's correct. The expander is used as a spacer for the wipers and a way to channel oil to the holes or slots in the piston so it can go back into the crankcase.

from what ive been told, thats right. you want the ring gaps 180 degrees away from each other to help hold in compression.

No expert here, I assembled mine as shown in the manual. It works fine.
