Default 300R with 250S head?

Is there any advantage to the 250S cylinder head on an otherwise natural 300R?

Asking because I seem to remember the 250S head adding a little compression ratio to the mix.

I know it works OK cause guys swap 300 cylinder/pistons onto the 250S all the time. Just wondering if there's any advantage?

But then, at my age, I remember a lot of stuff that didn't really happen. Did I ever tell you about the time I dated Jan Brady.....

The early KLX250 heads have smaller combustion chambers than the KLX300. I don't know about the newer "s" heads. The guide line that I've heard is that you might get a 3% increase in HP for each one point increase in compression ratio.........is it worth it? I'd put my money and effort into a big bore kit first.

Jan Brady from the Brady Bunch? Not sure you were her type.

Thanks Brewster. I looked it up and the CR is the same anyway. Like I said, my memory is subject to asthmatic fits.

Sure, Eve WAS a lesbian.....I turned her back to men. Yeah, that's the ticket.....
