Default 300cc kit installed - Result?

Firstly let me say how annoyed I am with myself.
I had a real chance to bench mark various mods against stock.
But it's now not stock.

I should have done various roll on and acceleration tests over the same stretch of road and recorded the results.
Then I could have given myself (and you good people in KF world) some real idea of the improvement obtained.

But alas no.

Anyway, I picked up the bike today and all it's had done is the 300cc kit.
Everything else is stock.
(it is quite cold and wet here tonight but I just couldn't resist the temptation to try it out)

Well, It felt stronger everywhere.
It's much better than I thought.
For some reason I had convinced myself that the 300cc kit alone wouldn't add much at all.
But it did.
If I had to quantify it I would say Maybe 10-15%. (In line with the 17.3% increase in volume)

Then I got my friend Rob to compare.
(he also bought a 250 and we had the 300cc kits fitted at the same time)
(It was too convenient to have them taken to the dealer together so a head to head comparison was not practical)
His "opinion" was like mine.
Reasonable increase right through the rev range.

These quick rides were done on a small straight piece of road.
This Sunday we will hit the trails and I will report on there off road performance.
I'm sure it will be in line with our quick test today.

Next will come the exhaust, airbox and jetting changes.
But, as we will be doing all other mods ourselves, we will do 1 bike and then compare the 2.
Maybe 5 runs over the same distance in various gears.
Swap bikes to take rider differences out of the equation and time all the results.
Should be very interesting.

I wonder if we should get 1 big gun system and 1 muzzy system?
Now that would be one hell of an experiment.
I can't see it happening though. Who would want to end up with the dud!!!!

Cheers

I think you should get 1 big gun system and 1 muzzy system. I'll bet they both very good.
