What are the odds of a KLX400 motor fitting in a KLX300/250s frame?

another good question, what is the price of a 400 and what else would you need to make it work?

Actually it depends on a few things:
How much to you want to spend?
How much can you do yourself?
If you have fabrication and welding skills, I don't see much of a problem. Just take the KLX400 motor or a DRZ400 motor (same motor), put it on a fabrication table and start building a framework around it.
Might be a whole lot cheaper to just go out and buy a used KLX400 or DRZ400 in the long run.
At least that's my opinion.
