29°F this morning and the KLX started flawlessly
Its not temperature sensative, its how long it sits... how long has it sat since last running? Went to start mine up yesterday and wouldnt start, drained the carb bowl and fired right up. Hell mine fired right up at 10 degrees last winter.
Mine seems like it is harder to start up in the colder weather. I usually turn off the fuel switch about a min. before I get home on the road to try to use it all up, but it still seems to want to start harder in the cold if its sat for like 2 days or more. I can get it to start right up in wamer weather like 50 or higher, so I didn't really think it would be the valves yet or would it??
Even with properly shimmed valves its very finnicky if it has sat for more than a few days. You can tip the bike sideways to get the float to open up and get fresh fuel in the bowl and that usually works. Or I just turn off the fuel and make 2 laps around the yard and it usually dies pulling into the garage. Mind you I only do this in the early spring and late fall when the weather is pretty crummy for riding anyway.

mine's alway started up right away, even after sitting for 3 weeks or so when i can't get into town to ride it. it does take a while to warm up and idle well tho.
