2009 KLX250sf Brake Light Issue(front)
Greetings!
New to the forum and love all the information to be found here. Recently got an 09 KLX250sf and love it. It has had many of the standard mods already done. One issue I am running into is that my brake light isnt coming on when engaging my front brake only. The previous owner changed the brake light set up and the turn signals are integrated into the single light. Any ideas on where I might start looking first? Not sure of make/model/brand of brake light just yet. Can provide pictures later today if that would help.
Thanks!

What do you mean when you say, "integrated into a single light"? Might be hard to diagnose over the internet if someone has already been into your wiring and mucking about in way that's different from stock.
On your rear brake light, is your brake light operating when you step on the rear brake pedal? There is a separate switch for the front brake lever, so that might be a good place to start. You're probably going to need a circuit tester...a simple test light will do...and do some wire tracing to see what the previous owner has done.

TNC,
Instead of there being a brake light and separate turn signals the turn signals are integrated into the brake light. Each side of it blinks according to which one is on. Similar to the Yamaha R6/R1 brake lights that I have seen people put on but just a slightly different style. All the wiring looks very clean and I dont think there was too much "mucking about". I was aware of the switch that controls the rear brake light coming on and that is functioning properly.
Do you know where that switch is located for the front brake system?
Ive replaced the brake light switch at the brake pedal in my truck 3 times now(common issue with Chevy Colorados) so I am familiar with this type of issues. Just new to the bike and figured it was worth asking to see if it was a common issue people have had.
Thanks for your input!

Check the switch under the lever. Theres two wires that plug in to it, one may have come loose.
Must be running one of these for the intergrated rear light.

Thank you guys for the input. After getting home I hate that ever posted this question. Just turned out to be one of the spade terminals right at the brake light switch. Hopefully attached a link to a picture of my tail light. Not sure if it is the same as the link you posted. Could be the guts of what I have but I havent been inside of it yet.
One more question though if anyone checks back on this thread.....found a plug/clip of sorts that comes out of the bottom of the turnsignal/horn/light assembly that was just hanging. My guess would be that it was something that was integrated in the old signal/brake light system that wasnt needed for the new one. Anyone have any ideas?

ol'klx-er,
I dont believe its the kick stand safety switch. Learned it the hard way having it shut off when putting it into first gear at the gas station a couple times only to realize the kickstand was down. Any other ideas?
