This, as a lot of you already know is an easy to do mod. Just remove the axle from the rear wheel, letthe wheeldrop but do it carefully so as to not let the spacers fall. Then, just push the wheel forward and lift the chain off the rear sprocket and you're home free. Use a rag to shield the swingarm from the chain or it will scratch it or get grease all over it. And then carefully lift it off the front sprocket. It is a tight fit between the case and the teeth of the sprocket but it will come out. By keeping the rear wheel in place you won't have to worry about feeding the rear rotor into the caliper and the pads which can be a pain sometimes.

here I have the new sprocket going on. notice it fits like a "glove" and there is no difference from '06/'07 to '09 regarding the countershaft cut.

here's a close-up of the Moose going on. I see some of you ******** claimed I didn't even have the sprocket or the neighbors to help. Not true. I speak the truth when I talk. I've been busy lately. So for all of you out there, TAKE A REAL GOOD ****ING LOOK. Oh yeah, this sprocket has the shoulder built in as well. That is required for the KLX250S on any year and THE SHOULDER GOES ON THE INSIDE TOWARDS THE ENGINE.

too much slack....this is the slack I was talking about earlier when someone didn't realize that when you add the 13-tooth sprocket, you increase your wheelbase. You have to adjust from this point to get to the factory recommended slack, like 1.4 inches or something. I'm talking to the newbies here as most of you know this already.

here is the adjuster marker before the 13-toother, with the stock 14-tooth front sprocket. Notice it is nearly in line with the 2nd notch.

here is the marker after the 13-tooth installation. Notice it moved a half notch. Not much, but still probably a millimeter or so, maybe not. But it is now longer in wheelbase.

RE: 2009 13-tooth sprocket- '06/'07 fits fine
very helpful but i am still thinking I should have someone do it for me. Why cant I just loosen the rear wheel then remove the sprocket, then tighten the rear wheel? is that possible?
