Default 1979 KLX250

There's a 1979 KLX250 for auction on Ebay. The current bid is $200. Bike is located in Ohio, and needs some work. Would be a fun project bike for someone in or near Ohio.

I sure hope my KLX doesn't look that dorky in 27 years.[sm=happybounce.gif]

I know what you mean, but for some reason I'm drawn to old stuff. If this bike were closer to me I'd buy it and tinker with it in the garage. Although, It would probably look the same in another 27 years, maybe it's good that it's far away.

Oooh, 9 hours left $202.50.

It's only 941 miles away from me. Hmmmm.... That's only 30 hours of driving and $282 in fuel???

Mike,

I don't know if that is such a good deal. You might get lucky and have it run, but the description of "Motor ran then started to squeal so I shut her down!" kind of scares me away.

Heck, I've got a 1984 KLR250 sitting in the garage. Bought it for $500 and it runs just fine. Needs some TLC, but it's a good bike. Nice Pirelli MT-21's on it, Acerbis Supermoto front fender, good grips, levers and such.

Gave me a fit with my artificial hip, so I bought the KLX250S with electric start!

Yeah like Marty said, I wouldn't touch that one; sounds like a money pit. If it was a classic like an Honda Elsinore, I could see buying a non-running example...
You should be able to get a fairly decent running dirtbike for $500 if you look around.

Don't worry, I'm not driving that far for that thing. If it were closer I'd pay $200 bucks for a hobby bike.

BTW Marty, any fires near you? I hope not. It looks like we might get some rain today.

No fires, just some unhappy gators!

Looks like another attack this week.

When is it going to be gator hunting time again? When done properly, gator tail is quite tasty!

1 gator makes many meals!
