I dont care about resale, its a toy not an investment. I think some of you need to just relax and understand that not everyone who buys these bikes worship them like yourselves. Im sorry to have offended anyone by saying that klx250's were slow...your right they are awesome fast powerfull super cool bikes, there now we can be friends.

You haven't been around here long enough to relize how this forum works. This is nothing with a fued. You should have been around a year or more ago and participated in one of the exhaust threads, now there were some fueds. The octane threads were also pretty good.

Just what kgwld1 said, stick around here for awhile, for the most part there are a bunch of good people on here and a ton of great info. People just tend to get a little excited.

KD,

You haven't offended anyone here by simply stating the obvious. You merely posted a query that elicited some very strong opinions. And you didn't start the feud that has been going on long before either on of us got here, you just provided it's latest venue.

If it's not obvious to you by now when you ask a question around here people will tell you what they really think - sugar coating is strictly optionally. The overwhelming majority of responses will be courteous even in disagreement, with sadly, some notable exceptions. Please ignore them.

I for one hope your project brings success. I have to admit skepticism, as evidenced by my previous post, but I still would like to see the results. Back in the day we referred to such a project as a "sleeper", taking an otherwise ordinary machine and "rewiring" it, as Tim Allen would say. But please do me a favor and leave the KLX250S decals on. That way, when you wax some unsuspecting blue/red bike in the woods they will look at your dust and say " what was that dude riding"....

Like I said earlier, I for one am looking forward to a full write up of the project.

I'm still getting 65mpg with all my mods (note #138 main and #38 pilot) when I use the OE 14/42 gearing. Truth is 165 km on main before reserve tank. I think my math is correct.

I got 85 mpg on a 200 mile highway ride in June with stock gearing and my mods. I regularly get 60-70mpg in town/off-road.

my math has you getting 68.2 actually.

Thats insane, even when I had my #120 main in I was getting like 58 mpg at best. Now that I have a #130 I don't want to even look. I just filled up today. We'll see what she is when I hit reserve. I even read a magazine article and they were getting an average of 59 mpg.

I wonder whats up with this stuff? You guys must be in stock gearing on straight stretches of road in high gear at low RPM for long periods of time. I have a good variance in everything. Open road, highway, city, trails, dirt roads.
