13/45 teeth- can you say easy 3rd gear wheelie?
I just got my new chain for my larger 45 tooth rear sprocket installed last Thursday and finally got a chance to take it out tonight for an hour or so. All I can say is wow! It has even more low end and now wheelies are more controllable and shifting from 2nd to 3rd is a breeze. Tonight I actually got halfway through 3rd riding it out before I ran out of room. Shifting from 1st to 2nd brings up the front end easily and keeps it up, then I shift w/out the clutch into 3rd and it's so controllable to ride. I still wish it had a little more torque, but I think it's all the carbs fault since blipping the throttle to bring it up is impossible w/out a real carb. I think it has enough power to do so if it did have a real carb. Thank god for the clutch or wheelying would be impossible on this bike, unless you have a pumper.

If you had the Muzzy you could get'er up in 4th!...LOL, J/K. Good to hear the sprockets are giving you more of what you want.
I should be able to make a limited assessment of the 249cc/pumper carb combo sometime this winter once we get any kind of break from the snow. Should be able to fit a good pipe and the Yoshimura/Mikuni TMR-MJN34 carb under the X-mas bonus. "I wish me a merry x-mas, I wish me a merry x-mas......"
I regret that I won't be able to giv'er a fully rounded check until next April though....winters are long in my neck of the woods. I just can't let a perfectly good piston and cylinder go to waste; must get my money's worth from the 249 before becoming a "big bore *****." [&:]

What size of chain do you need to make this change. I already have the 13t and would like to go with the 45 but do not know what size chain and where did you purchase 45t and chain from? Thanks

Here's the link to the sprocket:

Here's the link for the chain I bought:

Just make sure you choose the 108 link chain. Good luck.

(On a related note, but nothing to do with sprockets and chains, though, I went out for a quick ride to do a few errands today at lunch time -- and it started to snow! Pretty soon I'm going to know exactly what EMS feels like ... and in a couple months, I'll be the one that needs to dig out the training wheels!!!) [&o][&o][&o]
