I remember reading that a 150/70-17 is too "heavy" or overkill for our bikes. Correct me if I'm wrong, because I'd like to run a 150 on the 4.25" rim.

The way i look at it is

Mines a factory motard

Its a 250CC and going no where fast

i like the look of a larger tire

I dont see it slowing me down too much

I see your point but wouldn't our bikes lose nimbleness with the wider tires? That's our bikes strong point since we lack in the power department.

BP88,

here are the pics I said I would send. These are of a 140/70-17 on a 4.00 x 17" rim. It has about 1/2" ofclearance on the nondrive side at swinarm and about the same on the clearance from the chain. From the side picture you can see that it is alot of tire for that little scoot.

Wow, that is a tight fit. Pro Cycle said the 150/60/17 would fit but I would have to shave or remove the chain guard to make it fit. I hope they're right because I'd be royally bummed if it didn't.

i'v been thinking about getting supermoto wheels. if i do it'ld get the d-tracker/ sf rims, 3.00 rim & 110 front tire, 4.00 rim & 120 rear tire.

i've seen klx's with 3.25 front & 4.5 rear wheels with 150 rear tire. which is what just about everyone uses for supermoto but i think it's a bit over kill for the klx.
