Default 06 KLX250S Suspension Link Question

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and motorcycles in general, so I'm sorry if this topic has already been discussed. I just bought a 06 KLX250S that has a Koubalink lowering kit installed, and am looking to return the bike to stock height (I'm 6'4"). However, I've seen a few people on other forums state that KLX300R dog bones are a direct swap in a pre-08 250, provided you use the longer bolts as well. They claim it's a cheap way to get and extra inch or so of seat height. I've not been able to confirm this, has anyone tried it?

Thanks!

Key question. If you want more height I'd think you'd want a taller thicker seat to get more room to the pegs, maybe get pegs with an inch drop as some have done, to get more leg room on the bike, not to the ground.

Not saying don't do the linkage, just saying what really is important? By the way if you know the measurement of the link you could make some from flat stock.

I'm pretty sure the '06 250 and all KLX 300 (except maybe the new one) have the same dog bone length of 117mm. Just look for some on Ebay.
Swapping in originals will give you ground clearance that the lowering links won't. I bet you get at least an inch of ground clearance, if not 2".
