klx250s question
Hello,
I am new to the forum and am about to purchase a 250s. One theme I keep seeing is people changing the air flow in/out. I understand the air intake and exhaust work and also the need to re-jet after this.
What I am wondering is, how do they run stock?
I don’t want to buy something I will have to sink a lot of money into right off the bat.
Thanks for any info.

I've only done the so-called bolt on mods and saw minimal to modest gains in power. I think a lot of it depends on what you want out of the bike. For me its 80% commuting and 20% fun. So inexpensive upgrades was all I was looking to do.
I would agree with "Brieninsac", just depends on what you are going to ask of the bike. For me, I am happy with it just the way it is! But, I am not an aggressive flat out rider. Those who are more experienced and or flat out types find a need to pump it up. All in all they offer plenty of performance, with the option of getting more out of it if you want to tweak for probably not a ton of mooola.
Thanks for the replies. This is what I wanted to hear.
At 62 i'm not really in to flat out riding. Mostly two lane country roads, Forest service/old logging roads, and mild trails. I think I will probably be happy with the stock performance.
