kx250 2003...stood two years wont start

Hi Richard, just removed the filter and soaked in clean fuel....whilst off and soaking I tried to start it...nothing but a tired leg...what can be the problem?

Does the filter have to be on?

The filter doesn't have to be on to start, but you don't want to be riding around with it off once you figure out the problem. And it sounds like you have a good spark. Have you tried push starting it? Have you tried a little shot of engine starter spray?

Got you on the filter...Haven't tried engine start spray but if that will help then maybe i should.

Not tried push start as yet either.

PS. i noticed that yours is an S and 2006....do you know what year is a K?

I thought it started well for you before with the filter off? Try some starter spray and think about soaking the carb in some cleaning solution

A bomb start would be a good idea, turns the motor fast. Also when u started it did it run or just start and die?

It ran well....I stopped it.... it started easily....

Bomb start... what is that?
