We have a 2010 model 3010 diesel that we use in the middle of the jungle in Papua New Guinea (flew it in here by chopper in pieces and rebuilt it...only one trail we use it on, no access to town from this place). Been using it full-time since 2013.

It just developed a serious engine oil leak that we are having a hard time locating. Leaks more sitting still than when it is running.

We have limited tools and even more limited knowledge. We are literally bush mechanics. Any ideas where to find the leak? Our worry is that it might be at the drive output/crankshaft. Thanks!

 

Hi John,<br /><br />I too have had this problem, have looked with a borescope all around motor, changed drain plug, double checked around oil filter and oil pressure sensor....no luck. Drips from bottom of skid plate only when recently run...half a dozen drips then stops. Like a reservoir gets filled , empties over time, then stops. Just about ready to pull the engine.<br /><br /><br />Hope we can find some one who has addressed and solved this problem.<br /><br />Chuck<br />Port Angeles, Wa.
