High gear went out then low gear shortly after. Feels like the whole thing just clunked to the bottom of the case and it grinds all into the case. Seems like it's totally shot?

Should I bother paying to have it opened and maybe rebuilt or is it cheaper to buy another used one on eBay? I see one going for about $1000.

What's the cheapest and most expensive that it could run to rebuild, vs total cost to simply replace it?

Also, what year transmissions would fit onto a 2004 3010?
