I have an ultra 130, sunk it last season, yes i really sunk it, totally submerged in the bay(salt water) for about 2 hours untill i got it out. the flushing cap was not fully connected so it filled with water and sunk! Anyway I cranked it on shore and got all the salt water out of the cylinders. Ran it 2-3 more times after and it ran fine. This year I attemt to start and it wont. Turns over, spark plugs are covered in fuel, but wont start. What should I begin checking, any possible corrosion sites due to the sinking? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

few questions before i make sugggestions...


how many times did you run it before you put it away?

2-stroke or 4?

have you put fresh fuel/ oil in since it sank?

have you done a compression check?

 

2 stroke motor, fuel injected

Never did a compression check because it ran fine for the next 2 times

Not sure if i added any fuel after it sunk, spoke with the guy who winterized it for me, he said the motor sputtered out after he added the gas stabilizer.

Should I drain all the fuel?

 

of yes drain the fuel!

 

lol, change the gas and check the plugs and you should be fine
