Default 94 650 ts poor spark

ok guys ad gals my friend gave me a 1995 kawi 650 ts jet ski with less then 50hrs on the machine. ive cleaned carbs, replaced plugs, and it is getting fule.my probleam is that when u push start button,it gets one spark to both plugs, and then goes away. you can hold the button down for 20-30 sec it gets one spark when you frist press it and then goes away. i know theres a coil, sprak control box,and a stator @ the flywheel.every one keeps telling me that they ve never seen a coil go bad on these machines. so where do i start? can i have the coil tested? any input to get me on the water soon will be gladly app.thanks

A 95 with 50 hours on it sounds like it sat around quite a bit. Check all the wiring for damage and corrosion, then I'd start at the plugs and work my way back testing each component as per the manual. Good luck on finding the problem!
Welcome to KF!

Default Same problem ...

OK guys, I have the same problem, but it isn't my kill switch !!! I am not getting any fire. I am a machanic so I know what to look for. What I need to know is how to check the coil. I got another one but the wires are color coded different than the one that came off. I have went to several shops in the area but they have not a clue what is going on. I figure it is either the coil or the stator. What do you think? Any suggestions ?
