Default petcock on 81 kz1100

Just picked up an 81 kz1100 shaft that needs some tlc. i have a repair manual but no owners manual yet. i am confused on positions on petcock valve. it has 3 positions, what i call forward pointing, rearward pointing, and down. down is pri or prime, can anyone tell me what the other two positions are? if they are marked, i cannot read them. i want to make sure i have fuel turned off. any help would be appreciated. thanks, ed

no one has answered my question, but i have scraped the black over stray paint off and found that the three settings on the petcock are marked, pointing forward is "on", pointing down is "pri", and pointing rearward is "res". still no off setting which is what i was looking. so i assume this petcock has no off position. if anyone has anything different to share, i would appreciate hearing it. thanks, stickman

It is just like my 750
" ON" This is where it should stay as vacuum will open the valve when running.
"PRI" This bi-passes the vacuum system and it means Prime.
"RES" this is reserve, the last bit .
Hope this helps
