Default What to do now? Swingarm slider broke off.

Locked up front brakes and low sided my bike. The sliders saved the fairings but my swingarms slider broke off the threaded part. Is it safe to drill and tap a new hole, or drill all the way through and use a long bolt and nut. If not, any good ideas in case of next time?

If the stud for the slider itself broke off , use your ez out set or something similar.

ok, you broke off the slider ie spool correct? The welded nut on the swingarm is still there correct?

ah, the worst case scenario. I would just drill out an aluminum rod to rough size, grind off the broken nut from the swingarm, weld the new one on, ream the hole to size for the thread pitch, then tap it. But since the nut is not all that critical in tolerance, drill and tap it first, then weld it on the swingarm.
