both handlebars are hitting the gas tank

Default both handlebars are hitting the gas tank

ninja 250
the wheel is straight and the handlebars are lined up, but they both hit the gas tank when turned. any idea how to fix this? thanks

Sounds like the fork rods need to be adjusted

Actually, I'm not sure if that's right. I can't remember what the 250 setup looks like. will check it out tonight if nobody else has a better answer.

Are they clip ons that bolt onto the forks at the triple? If so, they may be adjusted inward too much. They probably have an allen head bolt in the clamp area. Loosen the allen bolt(s) and rotate them outward. Just measure to make sure they're even. If they're actually "bars" I'm probably not the best resource.

Thought that the "clip ons" were bolted onto the triple tree on the 250?

the two bolts ber bar loosen them then push away from tank snug them down then tork to spec then repet for oposit side. the book has the prosess it is worth its weight in gold
