Default time for the valve adjustment

well after being gone for a month its time to get back to work on the bike i did my measurments on the valves today and heres what i got. also my feeler gauge set went in increments of .225mm so the low number i post is the last gauge that would fit and the higher number is the gauge that wouldn't
ex .20/.23 .25/.28 .25/.28 .23/.25 .23/.25 .23/.25 .25/.28 .18/.20

in .20/.23 .20/.23 .20/.23 .18/.20 .15/.18 .15/.18 .13/.15 .18/.20

usuable range is ex .22-.31 in .17-.25
i assume i want to put those numbers right in the middle of the range. i haven't pulled the cams yet to check the shim size. ill do that in the next day or so so i can order the shims while i'm gone.

He is posting the measurements he got from checking his valves. He needs 3 shims onthe intake and 1on the exhaust according to what he wrote.

BR helped me with mine and it was a bitch for a first timer. I think he has considerable more skill than me though so should be a walk in the part for him.

yeah what i posted was the measurments i got.the reasons for the 2 numbers per valve is b/c of my feeler gauges. so the first exhaust valve is somewhere between .2 and .23

while your there Dragone, get yourself a micrometer to size your shims.
Walight, your right about aiming for the middle size. Your manual should let you know if the old shims are usable or not.

P.S. if your top end isn't rattling (I use a setherscope to listen to mine) there are probably ok and not in need of a change.
Tip. you can run old shims upside down for a short while to prolong there life, but not for long.
