throttle or carb problems

i'm pretty sure they're stock carbs. you just mean replacing the main jets?

Yes, just replace the main jets, check the pilots to confirm that they are also stock.

What do your spark plugs tell you? (i.e. what color is the deposit?)

how do i know what size main jets i need? its a 78 kz650b

The manual should have it listed. You can also check out sudco.com for your jet size. I know that they have diagrams there also.

In my kz750 manual, the carbs are Mikuni BS38's. So am not sure if the 650 will have the same.
