hi i was just wondering if there's a difference of size in gas caps on NINJA'S from year to year and cc size's? for instance would a 96 or 00 zx10 or zx11 cap and assembly fit a GPZ 600R and or the 80's C series.
from having looked at my 96 zx6r to my 88 and 89 zx6c they had looked the same. now in dire need to replace the one on my 88 and dont want to spend $150. on a hole tank. i just want to mount a different year cap and assembly on it, as i can find them in abundances and for a fair price.

 

The '88 ninja 600r cap should fit. p/n: 51049 $63.00 ish

 

TY, still more then i wanted to spend but i lucked out. thought the hinge on the cap was broke turned out the screw threads on the hinge where just striped out some how. so i just pop riveted it together holds grate now

 

Some caps pivot on a roll or spring pin, see if your's is this way. A piece of wire coat hanger made into a punch might drive out the roll pin.

 

ONe thing good about kawi is alot of their stuff will interchange. I swear the tail light on my old 05 636r ninja would fit my 08 kfx450! Looks identical to me hahaha. Be funny if it did fit.
