I own a 1996 kawasaki 600r. Its not the kawasaki zx6r. The model that i own can be seen if you clink on the following link (http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/fo...r-dscn1897.jpg).
After using it for a couple of months my starter switch has fallen off, (the previous owner of the bike was a friend who had a couple of wipeouts). I was looking on ebay and came across a starter switch assembly for a "2000 kawasaki Ninja zx-600 starter switch zx-6e" (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-Ka...ameZWD1V)(item number 370043932119) or a "1996 zx6r starter switch (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1996-...ameZWD1V)(item number 220198107683).
If these parts wont work for my bike which can work for my bike. Im so new at everything that i want to make sure that everything will work properly since i do use thiis bike pretty much daily and i want to be safe.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You need part number 46091-1591 or 46091-1663 , the ebay items are part numbers 46012-1260 and 46091-1672 so they are not compatable. Check out http://fiche.ronayers.com/and look up the handlebar fiche for your bike, and any possible donor bikes for compatability.

Yes, compare the part numbers and go from there. Generally they are good for up to a few yrs model spread.
