Ok well i just completed my second oil chang on my bike and was wondering if it's normal for the oil level to fall while the bike is running. I put the right amount of oil in the bike. Just noticed the oil level drops when running. No leaks or unusal noises from the bike. Any one with an idea or if someone could go and start up there 636 and watch the oil level to see if it falls let me know.

 

It drops because the oil pump starts drawling oil from the case to circulate it throughout the engine while running. Yes, it's normal.

Just do a double check after the oil/engine is warmed up to see if it is within spec.

edit: new filters will suck up some oil as listed in your manual.

 

It's all good. I took a trip down to the beach with the bike it ran better than it did with moble one in it. that new oil i tried is good. I bought some Repsol 10w-50 racing oil.
I talked to a guy at the shop i bought it from and said he ran it in his bike. He wrecked it and punched a hole in his engine and all of the oil ran out and he said the engine didn't blow after riding it for 15 min in first gear. And he also said about 2 weeks later he went out and wanted to see if the bike started and it did. So i guess i bought some good oil
