hi, im new here and need some help/advise. i own a zl1000 and have a strange problem. my ride will start fine and idle fine but at about 3k rpm it start to bog out if i work the rpm up past about 4 or 5k it goes away. the same symptoms happen when i drive it. when im cruising or giving steady throttle at about 3k rpm it bogs in and out and the tach goes up and down to zero. if i work the throttle and speed up over 5k it will smooth out and run. ive taken the carbs off and cleaned them good and it did not correct the problem. has anyone been through this before?? thanks.

 

Check the carb synch after you are sure that all other carb related checks are completed. ie carbs are clamped and positioned properly, float heights are set. Good luck and welcome to KF
