KLX250 S oil
Just bought this bike and wanted to give it an oil change. My older manual only states I should use 10w-40 wt. The only synthetic oil I could find at Walmart was Mobil one "high mileage".
I looked for the JASO/MA rating on the label that I've understood was necessary for wet clutch bikes. It's not there. Should I go to a bike shop and get a more specific-for-my-bike oil, or is what I bought O.K.?
Thanks.

Steve,
I think the bang-for-the-buck synthetic with the JASO MA certification is the Rotella 5W-40 at Walmart. Works fine. I suppose if you are burning or leaking oil already the 5W might go through it a little faster but I doubt it would be noticeable.
So, yes, you do want to stay with the JASO/MA rating to be safe BUT, there are known conventional, non-Energy Conserving oils that are (and always were) suitable for wet clutches. Castrol GTX in 10W-40 is a safe go to, as are the Shell Rotellas.
This is my opinion but I think it is pretty well supported by others.
Enjoy your KLX!
