**** 00 zr7 Please help...
Hello everyone, I'm pretty new at this and am a new rider.
I recently bought a 2000 ZR-7 750cc for a good deal which was great for a couple of days. The other day after a little ride in town and back to my place, as I parked, it didn't want to go to neutral. After a few try (like 50 time) it did go back to neutral. So I decided to turn it back on and try to ride it to see if there was any problem.
So I turn it back on and the engine rev at 4 to 5 rpm (x1000) on neutral which is not normal. Anyone would know why?
So I did some research online and some peoples told me to start with changing the oil. Which I did but the engine still does the same thing.
Plus after changing the oil, my front right fork started licking oil also.
Is something wrong with the gear? Fork? Engine?
Money is very tight nowday as I just got lay off. FML...
Can anyone help me see what wrong with it?
Thank you for your time

Welcome to KF
Sounds like you have a few things happening all at once on your new toy.
The fork leak is one issue that you can try to clean the wiper blades with a credit card to see if the leak stops.
Is the bike kind of grabby when you change the gears and try to find "N" with the clutch in?
Check your choke cable on the engine over revving on start up. It may be binding up or even routed incorrectly. As well as the throttle and return cables. If you turn the front one way, does it rev up or not? Verify that the carb boots are on properly and the clamps are tight. While you are there, check that the filter is in good working order.
Good luck on your new ride and enjoy

What is your idle speed? Your sidestand switch could be causing you an issue once placing it in gear or the neutral safety switch. bypass the switches for testing and find out for sure.
