Default Installed my dual kolpin 1.5 gal fuel tanks.

Im plannin a long adventure trip next yr and might be taking a small trip this yr in the late summer time and thought since the stock tank on the klx's are damn small I would need extra fuel to go longer and not have to stop as much. I can hold 5gallons of gas now! I bought Kolpins 1.5 gal cans and got the pack brackets to go with them.

Here is the bracket I had to make. Just a piece of C-Channel that I had to drill 4 holes in. I used the U-Bolts that came with the gas cans to mount it to the passenger foot peg. I didnt want to modify anything on the bike and wanted it easily removable.

The Pack Bracket that came with the cans. These brackets are STOUT! Very heavy metal.

Here are the cans. So far they are workin out great. Has a nice spring loaded spout.

Bracket attached. Turned out really good. I also painted it with bedliner for a stronger finish.

So far I like it. Only prob I have found is my legs hit the cans when Im sitting. Its not enough to mess me up really riding or when my feet are down. I just have to sit more forward a lil when im at a stop light or somethin. When Im riding its no prob. I also installed a nomadic rear rack which is not in the pics. Im gonna buy another mount for it for the gas cans so I can just carry one with me instead of installing the brackets on my foot pegs all the time since i commute with this bike daily. The brackets are only for my long road trips.

It doesnt affect my riding position at all when riding. A road trip will tell though.
