gearing down
what will gearing down a tooth in the front do to my speedometer anything? make it read faster or slower? im not sure thats where the speedo gets it reading from but makes sence to me ive heard some get it from the front wheel speed? its a 2000 zx9r if that matters. if it messes with it is there an easy fix is that what a speedo healer is for guess i could just get the wife to drive her car at certain speeds and c what my bike reads. also for the people that have done this any regrets ie revin to high at crusin speed ect thanks
it depends 100% on where the speedo reads from.. i think your bike is cable drive, but i really don't know..
if it is, it'll read off the front wheel, and no matter what your gearing is, the speed will remain correct.
if its a pulse counter, then dropping teeth on the drive sprocket (or going up on the rear) will make it read faster than what you're actually going..
