The manual is well worth the money and will save you every time. It been a while, but I believe it was 2 screws in the front next to the triple on my 07 and then the tank would pop up like the hood of a car, but they redesigned the bike in 09 so I dont know if it has changed. If you need to go any deeper than that, just keep pulling screws until it comes loose. Remember that the fuel system is pressurized, you shouldnt have to disconnect the fuel lines, but it can be a nasty suprise if your not ready for it. Also if you do pull the lines the pump should hold the fuel in the tank so you wont have too big of a puddle. Once again my info is a little old, but it should get you started, enjoy!

per my 06 manual

seat removal, both side panel removal (next to the tank and seat), you can now see the allen bolt on the back of the tank, remove the steering damper, remove the two front tank bolts, I suggest taping the tank fuel and vacuum lines and label them. They are color coded, but a lot of people mess this up. There is no petcock, so any fuel in the tank will need to be drained or clamped off.

As mentioned above, if you intend to work on your ride, I would also suggest obtaining the manual first before installing that TRE.

Good luck and enjoy
